Grounded training

Operating out of Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport, we provide tailored stick-and-rudder instruction for private and commercial certifications, as well as navigating in various East Tennessee airspaces.

Our Approach

Direct stick-and-rudder instruction

  • We founded Weaver Aviation to bypass corporate flight academy bureaucracy. Our students step straight onto the tarmac for hands-on pre-flight walkarounds, direct cockpit briefings, and individual logbook tracking with our instructors.

  • We keep overhead low, aircraft maintenance rigorous, and instructor hours focused entirely on your progression toward certification.

Based at KGKT, the location offers immediate access to complex ridge winds, uncontrolled mountain corridors, and realistic cross-country routes. Training here builds real confidence before you ever cross into busy regional airspaces.

From early morning atmospheric fog over the ridges to afternoon thermal shifts, every hour logged at KGKT provides authentic airmanship challenges that standard flatland practice areas simply cannot match.
